New new start

Calorie-wise, I've been doing pretty good for the weekend past. Staying around 1800-2000 calories per day, with some dips to 1600 or even just over 1400.

It's exercise that I've been neglecting.

Last night I started over. The weather was gorgeous and warm, in the 70s, and as soon as I got home I suited up and went for a run.

Ran a mile out away from home. Started feeling that old sensation of my lungs burning even before a half-mile, but kept moving until the mile mark. Stopped for water, turned around, walked a minute or two, then started a slow run again. Stopped twice more for walking and once for traffic.

So, my first (new) goal: run solid for 20 minutes. How long until I can do that simple thing again?

And my reward: this morning, I weighed in at 195.5, one pound down from yesterday. That's the right direction.
